The Food Forest at Home Course
Grow food. Save money. Find freedom.
Tuition: $190
Why take this course?
Our goal is to help you get outside, grow food, and harvest the rewards.
No jargon. Everything in this course is designed for one purpose, to teach you how:
To grow the most food
For the least cost
With less work
In whatever space you have.
Period.
Real time instruction. This course runs the length of the northern temperate zone growing season (May thru October). Each module reflects what is happening in your garden in real time.
Follow along in practice as you create your home food forest. Even if you don't have your "ideal" garden space, we encourage you to get your hands in the soil, plant some seeds, and see what happens.
Real deal teachers. Co-teachers Luke and Kristen have real world permaculture experience in the city and suburbs.
We will teach you how to be resourceful and break the rules of conventional gardening without overly technical explanations.
Manageable time commitment. You're busy. We get it. That's why we've honed this course to include everything you need to know and nothing you don't. On average you will spend an hour per week on curriculum content; how much time you spend in your garden is up to you.
Our methods will save you precious time and energy. Assignments are fun, outdoors and activity-centered.

Why grow food?
It’s cheaper than the grocery stores.
There might still be food on the shelves, but the cost is staggering — and it's only going up. Wouldn't you rather do something else with your hard-earned money than hand it over for a basic need? We like to think so.
You get more variety.
The lack of diversity in the modern diet is shocking. Out of (at least) 30,000 edible plants on earth we could be eating, only about 200 are widely cultivated. From those two hundred, only nine — NINE foods! — make up nearly 70% of our diets. You get more when you grow your own.
It’s more nutritious.
The food that grows around your home contains mineral and nutrient levels far beyond that of anything in a grocery store, where food imported from all over loses nutrients in transit. Our course focuses heavily on building healthy soil, which is the primary ingredient in raising healthy plants. No fertilizer necessary.
Imagine:
Picture a mix of tender leafy greens intermingled with fragrant basil and lavender erupting from fertile black earth.
Imagine topping your burgers with juicy red tomatoes picked straight from the yard, sprinkled with spice powder dried from your favorite peppers.
See yourself plucking a handful of blueberries for your morning yogurt bowl while you watch bees dance across chive and yarrow blossoms scattered around the garden.
YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL.
We want to show you how. It’s easier than you think - no green thumb necessary. Trust us.
